Regulations of Using Discussion Rooms and Presentation Room

The discussion rooms and presentation room at Hong Kong Shue Yan University Library are available for group studying or meeting.

There are two discussion rooms at 6/F Learning Commons and one presentation room at 5/F.

  • Discussion rooms at 6/F: for groups of THREE to SIX
  • Presentation room at 5/F: for groups of SEVEN to TEN

Booking Guidelines

  • The rooms can be booked by students or staff via online Room Booking System on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • To book the rooms via online system, users should use the below login method:
    • Staff Login: Same as Veriguide/ Webmail/ Moodle
    • Student Login: Student number and password
  • One user can reserve for 2 sessions per WEEK. Each session is 30 minutes.
  • Users should view the room booking status before reserving a room.
  • A confirmation email will be sent to the users.
  • The rooms can be booked 2 MONTHS in advance.

Regulations of Using the Rooms

  • Users must observe Library regulations, and keep the room in good order.
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the rooms.
  • Users are responsible for any damages of the facilities in the rooms.
  • The Library is not responsible for any loss or damage of personal items left unattended in the rooms.

Room Facilities

The rooms are equipped with:

  • White boards
  • PC workstations 
  • Projector (5/F only)
  • Users can bring in their notebook computers for connection to the University’s network through WiFi.
