Please be informed that the Library-subscribed database, “五南電子書庫,” will temporarily cease service tomorrow, on 27 Jul 2024 (Sat), from 1:00 to 6:00 pm due to necessary electrical maintenance. 

Should the service be restored ahead of schedule or experience any delays due to project progress, no additional notifications will be issued.

【User Services Team】Recruitment for Part-time Student Assistants

The Library is currently recruiting Part-time Student Assistants to provide operational support for user services.

Under the supervision of the User Services section staff, student assistants are responsible for providing support in the following areas:

  • Performing counter duties.
  • Conducting patrolling duties to ensure a comfortable and quiet environment for library users.
  • Handling user enquiries about Library materials.
  • Providing administrative and clerical support.
  • Designing publicity materials such as leaflets and posters.
  • Assisting in promoting Library services.
  • Supporting Library events including but not limited to Library Tours and Info Day.
  • Performing other duties related to the section.

Requirements:

  • Be punctual.
  • Be conscientious of the work duties.
  • Have self-discipline.
  • Maintain a positive working attitude towards servicing the university community and enjoy working in a team.
  • Ability to prioritize between work and studies and be willing to dedicate at least 10 hours per week, including Saturdays and evenings, to work for the division.
  • Possess a good command of spoken and written Chinese and English.
  • Proficiency in using computer software such as MS Office. Knowledge of graphic design software like Canva and Photoshop would be a definite advantage.
  • Preference will be given to undergraduate students in years 1 to 3.

The remuneration of the positions will be based on the hourly rate offered by the Department.
