Minimum Browser Requirements for EBSCO Interfaces

The Minimum Browser Requirements for EBSCO interfaces are as follows:

Internet Explorer 7.0 or later
FireFox 8.0 or later
Safari 5.1 or later
Google Chrome 16 or later
Other JavaScript, cookies enabled

The recommended screen resolution for EBSCOhost is 1024 x 768. See the first note below for exceptions.
Macintosh OS9 users who cannot run the latest Netscape version 7.2 can download a compatible version by clicking HERE, and then click the “Download Now” link inside right-hand column.
How do I update my browser?
Notes:

  • The recommended screen resolution for Nursing Reference Center (NRC), Rehabilitation Reference Center (RRC), and Patient Education Reference Center (PERC) is 1280 x 1024.
  • Internet Explorer 8 users should turn off Compatibility View by clicking the button next to the web address bar in their browser. Compatibility View may cause some areas of EBSCO interfaces to not display correctly.
  • Mac users trying to open PDF files using the Safari 5.1 browser must install the Schubert|It PDF plug-in to view PDFs at this time.
  • Adobe Flash Player 8.0 or later is required to use Visual Search in EBSCOhost.
  • Adobe Flash Player 10.0 or later is required to use Text-To-Speech on interfaces in which it is available.
  • The Netscape browser is not supported by EBSCOhost, however some EBSCO applications may run using this type of browser.
  • Page Composer will not appear for users who do not have browsers that meet these requirements.

    New Databases

    You can access these new databases via the Library website.
    1. World eBook Library (Academic Research, Rare & Special eBook Portal)

    The database is published by The World Public Library Association, the world’s largest eBook provider. It includes more than 2 million eBooks in 100+ languages, containing 125 of the finest eBook and eDocument collections published on the Internet today.
    All of the eBooks are in PDF file format, and all Audio eBooks are in MP3 file format. These formats have been specially designed to be cross platform compatible with all PCs, Laptops, PDAs, Kindle DX, Kindle 3 iPad/iPods, eReaders, or Smartphones.
    Subject Areas consists of 21st Century, Action Adventure, Biography, Classics, Drama, Education, Elizabethans, Esoteric, Fiction, Folklore, Children’s, Gothic Tales, History, Liberal Arts, Mystery, Non Fiction, Poetry, Political Science, Pulp Fiction, Religion, Renaissance Thinkers, Science, Science Fiction, Western, Europa, Eastern, Professional.
    2. 中國文化大革命文庫
    中國文化大革命文庫由宋永毅、丁抒等海內外學者編輯，香港中文大學中國研究服務中心出版，收集了一萬篇以上的原始檔，總字數接近三千萬。此文庫以類相從,按年代編排，讀者可按人名、日期、主題、關鍵字等方法自由檢索，分成個七部分：
    第一部分. 有關文化大革命的中共檔、指示、公報彙編；第二部分. 毛澤東關於文化大革命的講話、指示和文章；第三部分. 林彪關於文化大革命的講話、指示和文章；第四部分. 中央首長關於文化大革命的講話和指示；第五部分. 有關文化大革命的重要報刊社論文章；第六部分. 文化大革命中紅衛兵、群眾運動重要文獻；第七部分. 文化大革命中的異端思潮重要文獻總導言。
    3. 中國反右運動數據庫，1957-
    中國反右運動數據庫 (1957 -) 由宋永毅、丁抒等海內外學者編輯，香港中文大學中國研究服務中心出版，收集了一萬篇以上的原始檔，總字數接近兩千萬，讀者可按人名、日期、主題、關鍵字等方法自由檢索。此文庫共分為如下七大部分：
    第一部分. 和反右運動有關的官方文件；第二部分.毛澤東在“反右”運動前後的有關講話、指示和文稿 ; 第三部分. 中共黨政領導和反右運動有關的講話和指示；第四部分. 有關反右運動的重要報刊社論文章；第五部分. 重要的右派言論和文章；第六部分. 反右運動前後的鳴放言論、報刊社論和重要文章；第七部分. 反右檔案：處理結論、檢查交代和平反通知。
    Besides, iSinoLaw and Thomson Reuters entered into a cooperation agreement on 18 November 2011 (Beijing time) whereby iSinoLaw will be replaced by the Westlaw China (萬律).
    The iSinoLaw platform will be terminated on 14 February 2012.
