My Circulation Record
"My Circulation Record" allows you to view all your loans, requested items, fine + fee records.
Step 1: Click "My Circulation Record"
Step 2: Login with HKSYU account
Step 3: View all your library record
Step 4: Change Setting in "Personal Details and Settings"
Request
The "Request" function allows users to request a checked-out item from another user. This feature is particularly useful when a desired item is currently on loan to another patron. By initiating a request, users can place a hold on the item and be notified when it becomes available for them to borrow.
Request Item
Step 1: Search item in library website
Step 2: Click into the item
Step 3: Click the "Request" button
Step 4: Select "Terms of Use" and "Pickup Date"
Step 5: Click "SEND REQUEST"
Step 6: The green message notice
Cancel Request Item
Step 1: Click your name on top right corner and select "Library Card"
Step 2: Click "Requests"
Step 3: Click "Cancel"
Step 4: Click "CANCEL IT"
Step 5: A message will pop up
Step 6: You will received "Request Cancellation"
Recall
A recall is a request to get an item back from another patron. The request service may lead to a recall of the checked-out items and may shorten their due date. The Library will send a recall notice to inform the current borrower about the change of due date. Please always check your email notifications and items being recalled cannot be renewed.
Item being recalled will show "NOT RENEWABLE"
The email will be sent to the current borrower when another patron requests the item
After borrow item(s), a Loan Receipt Letter will send to your email

 
Renewals
Borrowed items with normal loan periods may be renewed in “My Circulation Record”, please refer to maximum loan period (with renewal). The new due date will be calculated from the date of renewal.


Automatic renewal:
Library items with normal loan periods will be automatically renewed 2 days before the due date until the maximum loan period has been reached.

Renewal will NOT be accepted if:
  1. An item has reached its maximum loan period
  2. An item cannot be renewed (e.g. a short loan item, an external reader card, a bound serial)
  3. A user has long overdue books or over $200 unpaid library fines
  4. A user has 10 or more overdue library items
  5. A user has 1 or more overdue recalled items
