Programs are mainly subjected to news and public affairs. For effective preservation and easier access for Library users, some licensed episodes produced are converted into online streaming videos. DVD copies can be found on the 6/F of the Library, or users may login to access restricted resources through HKSYUtube for online viewings.

4.   5/F: an extension of Learning Commons

During this Summer, the 5/F of the Library was renovated by replacing old bookshelves with additional new furniture. 8.   Result of LibQUAL+ Survey 2013

In November 2013, the Library conducted an online survey via LibQUAL+ in which 97% of 606 completed responses were undergraduates.

The overall score in quality of service is 6.53. Our result is similar to that of JULAC* Libraries’ LibQUAL+ survey in 2011.  Hence, HKSYU Library successfully reaches a certain level of service as an academic library in Hong Kong.
*JULAC includes all 8 public university libraries, i.e. HKU, CUHK, HKUST, CityU, PolyU, HKBU, LU & HKIEd

Detail of the survey:

22 questions of the three main dimensions (i.e. Affect of Service (AS), Information Control (IC) and Library as Place (LP) scoring on a scale of 1 to 9 at three levels: Minimum (M), Perceived (P) and Desired(D)), it showed that AS received the highest adequacy score at 1.14 (i.e. P–M )while LP scored the lowest superiority at –1.13 (i.e. P–D). On usage pattern questions, the results showed that over 50% of respondents use the Library at least weekly and over 90% of them use commercial search engines. There are 362 written comments in which 25% of them related to I.T. & Facilities.
