New Databases

You can access these new databases via the Library website.

1. South China Morning Post Digital IP Access Program

The database brings the editorial content of the South China Morning Post online edition together with breaking news and videos. It also allows users to retrieve any article, image or key word published in the database in the past 10 years. Users can also sub-select by subject and section category.


2. ProQuest Dissertations & Theses (Abstract & Index): Subset A (Humanities & Social Sciences Collection)

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses (PQDT) includes nearly 3 million searchable citations to dissertations and theses from around the world from 1743 to the present day together. Each dissertation published since July 1980 includes a 350-word abstract written by the author. Master’s theses published since 1988 include 150-word abstracts. Abstract & Index for Dissertations and Theses are sourced from 700 leading academic institutions worldwide. Our library subscribes Abstract & Index version Subset A (Humanities & Social Sciences Collection) only.


3. PsycCRITIQUES

PsycCRITIQUES is a full-text database with tens of thousands of incisive book and film reviews from 1956 to present. It provides users with insight on publications from psychological perspective allowing them to choose relevant reading material, to select appropriate course materials, and more.


4. Journal Citation Reports Social Sciences Edition

Journal Citation Reports offers a systematic, objective means to critically evaluate the world’s leading journals, with quantifiable, statistical information based on citation data. By compiling article’s cited references, JCR helps to measure research influence and impact at the journal and category levels, and shows the relationship between citing and cited journals. Our library subscribes Social Sciences editions.
